Expansion instead of relocation: Hildebrandt & Bartsch celebrates topping-out ceremony in Dahlewitz
The specialist wholesaler Hildebrandt & Bartsch reached the decision to remain at its location in the Dahlewitz commercial area and to expand there. Construction work got started in late January 2020 with a symbolic topping-out ceremony.
On August 4, 2020 company management, employees, and the workers and planners involved in the construction project celebrated the topping-out ceremony. Mayor Michael Schwuchow was also there to congratulate them on the completed construction phase.
The company is investing around 16 million euro into the extension, new construction, and modernization. With the expansion, Hildebrandt & Bartsch is reacting to the increasing order volume in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The extension and expansion of the building will create around 7,400-square meters of additional warehouse space.
The new building sections are expected to be accepted by the end of the year. The existing buildings, both the warehouse as well as the 2,500-square meter office area, will then be modernized next year. A photovoltaic system and an e-charging station are also planned for the parking lot. The construction project is expected to be completed in late 2021.
Hildebrandt & Bartsch moved to Dahlewitz 26 years ago. Many of the 240 employees are from the surrounding area and most have been with the company for a long time. For the company management, this was a good reason to stay. “As a family-owned company, we rely on experienced employees who support their employer. This is one of the reasons why we decided to commit to this location by enlarging it,” explains owner Kai Kruse.
In the coming year, Hildebrandt & Bartsch will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. The company has been a member of the Kruse group of companies since 1989 and supplies commercial customers from the areas of healthcare, hotel and food service, as well as the building cleaning and industry in Berlin-Brandenburg with products for professional cleaning, hygiene and care, occupational safety, as well as disposable and packaging items.
