Ceremonial key handover of the new Berlin-Brandenburg state laboratory
On February 22, the ceremonial key handover for the new building of the Berlin-Brandenburg state laboratory (LLBB) took place in Berlin Adlershof. Joined by the Senator for Healthcare, Nursing, and Equality, Dilek Kolat, the Minister of Justice and for Europe and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg, Stefan Ludwig, the Chairman of the LLBB Board of Directors, State Secretary Margit Gottstein, the Director of the LLBB, Norbert Buchholz, and Sven Lemiss, Managing Director of BIM Berlin Immobilienmanagement GmbH (BIM), handed over the building to the state of Berlin as a tenant and the joint state laboratory of the two federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg as future users.
The new four-story laboratory building with administration contains modern laboratories with different levels of security, offices, a library, as well as a social and technical area. In addition, a cafeteria on the ground floor will also be open to the public in April.
In late 2015, WISTA.Plan GmbH (formerly Adlershof Projekt GmbH) had sold the state-owned property at Rudower Chaussee/the corner of Wegedornstraße to HOCHTIEF LLBB GmbH. The latter had been commissioned by the state of Berlin to build and operate the building for the LLBB as a user.
The LLBB will merge three of its six locations at its new headquarters in Adlershof. The approximately 380 employees will move in in March 2019.
