Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH presents 2017 aviation noise report
Air traffic is growing and is developing particularly dynamically in Berlin. Despite the enormous increase in passengers, the aviation noise level in Schönefeld and Tegel in the middle has remained virtually unchanged or only moderately increased over the past few years. This is possible because aircraft and engine manufacturers, airlines, airports, and German air traffic control have developed technologies and procedures that make flying quieter, with significant scientific involvement. As early as 2020, the latest generation of aircraft will be perceived only half as loud as aircraft built at the turn of the millennium.
