Groundbreaking ceremony for the Sonnenhöfe in Neu-Schönefeld: Where else, if not here!
With the groundbreaking ceremony, the enormous construction activity around the future Berlin Brandenburg BER airport in Schönefeld continues.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the Sonnenhöfe took place on March 21, 2018, continuing the enormous construction activity around the future Berlin Brandenburg BER airport in Schönefeld. There, where previously only meadows and fields have been and today perhaps 500 people live, a rapidly growing city is being created with Neu-Schönefeld, which will have around 25,000 inhabitants in ten years.
Sonnenhöfe GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture in which Eyemaxx Real Estate AG holds a 50.1 percent stake and Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG holds 49.9 percent, is building 16 buildings with attractive rental apartments on more than 38,000 square meters of living space with total investment costs of €170 million.
The buildings are grouped around three green courtyards with rest areas and playgrounds. In two additional buildings along the Hans-Grade-Allee, multifunctional, four-story office buildings with more than 11,400 square meters of net area are being developed. They offer generous, flexible, and modern equipped surfaces for different usage scenarios from multi-tenant to single-user and at the same time serve as sound insulation for the street.
Additional smaller commercial units in the residential buildings provide space for around 1,000 square meters for e.g. local resident services. Partial completion of the initial buildings is scheduled for October 2020, with completion scheduled for August 2021. Although the Sonnenhöfe are in the immediate vicinity of BER, they are located outside the noise corridors of the aircraft taking off and landing due to their special location. The Strabag subsidiary Züblin has been commissioned as a general contractor with the turnkey construction. Blumers Architekten are responsible for the design of the plan.
