Neu-Schönefeld: Fontane-Höfe cornerstone laid
On September 21, 2017 in Neu-Schönefeld, the cornerstone for one of Brandenburg’s largest private rental property building projects was laid: the Theodor-Fontane-Höfe.
In Neu-Schönefeld’s poetry district on Theodor-Fontane-Allee at the corner of Rudower Chaussee, 334 rental apartments, 82 of which are barrier-free, with approximately 22,400 square meters of living area are springing up in twelve four-story apartment buildings.
The one to four-room apartments with 30 to 90 square meters meet both the needs of families as well as those of single people and seniors. The rental price is anticipated to be 10.50 Euros per square meter. The property is located north of the Schönefeld Airport and on the southern edge of Berlin, outside of the airport’s noise corridor.
The project includes participation by DIE Theodor-Fontane-Höfe GmbH & Co. KG as building owner, DIE Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG as project developer, and the Becker & Kries group of companies as investor. The Ed. Züblin AG was commissioned with execution of the construction work.
After completion of construction, which is planned for the third quarter of 2019, DIE AG will hand over the Theodor-Fontane Höfe ready for immediate occupancy to the Becker & Kries group of companies. For the director of project development of DIE Deutschen Immobilien Entwicklungs AG, Hans-Peter Werner, this project is another milestone in the development of the Neu-Schönefeld district.
