New HUB 3 building at BB Business Hub receives planning permission

Things are rapidly evolving in the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Region: it was recently announced that construction of BER Airport is now complete and that the new airport will be ready for operations in October 2020. And now Alpine Finanz has received planning permission to begin building Hub 3 at its BB Business Hub corporate campus in Schönefeld. The new Hub 3 building will add 17,000 m² of space to the two existing buildings (Hubs 5 and 7) that formed the former Airport Center Schönefeld, almost doubling the previously available space. Colliers International Berlin GmbH will be the exclusive leasing agent for the new office units, divisible into spaces as small as 300 m². Some of the office spaces have already been reserved by their future tenants. Planning permission now means that the schedule for further progress on the project can be set: the groundbreaking is planned for June 2020 and construction is expected to be complete by Q2/2022. “For us, getting planning permission marks the transition from the planning phase of the past 18 months to the implementation phase. At the same time, leasing activities are well underway and one-third of the space has already been reserved,” Michael Saddei, Managing Director of Alpine Finanz Bau, said with pleasure.

In the future, the BB Business Hub will include three buildings that offer tenants flexible office spaces and an optimal working atmosphere in the immediate vicinity of both the new BER and the adjacent Schönefeld airports. Hub 7 will offer perfect working conditions paired with economical rents, while the partially air-conditioned Hub 5 promises the comforts of a premium workplace. Users of the future Hub 3, the final structure on the business campus being built at Mittelstraße 3, will also not be sacrificing any comfort. In addition to a design by architectural firm HPP, Hub 3 will feature a 600 m² dining area with a modern dining concept, multi-functional spaces for meetings or training sessions, as well as spaces to park bicycles and cars including an electric vehicle charging station. The individually adaptable offices will have modern fittings and a lavishly designed outdoor area that will create the right conditions for official appointments and creative breaks outdoors in the future.

Also unbeatable are BB Business Hub's connections to Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and the rest of the world. After all, the airport terminal is in the immediate vicinity, making the next business meeting in Frankfurt or London just a short hop and a skip away. Important hotspots such as the Media-Spree campus (25 minutes by train, 20 minutes by car) and Kurfürstendamm (40 minutes by train, 25 minutes by car) are easily accessible from Schönefeld station directly across the street. The boom cities of Dresden (70 minutes) and Leipzig (110 minutes) are also within easy reach.
