Buckower Felder: new homes for Berlin's south side
A new city district of about 63,800 m² (15.8 acres) is being planned, 7.2 km (4.5 miles) from the future BER airport. It will offer 950 new homes. Approx. 57,700 m² (14 acres) of the site will be used for high-rise apartments, while the remainder will be dedicated to detached homes. Another 1,000 m² (11,000 sq. ft.) will house the day care center.
As it develops this new neighborhood, STADT UND LAND is striving to create a distinct, innovative district with high recognition value and good social cohesion. Cooperative workshops have been held to establish the guidelines for this process. The redevelopment of Buckower Felder is intended to provide affordable living space for a broad spectrum of the population.
