The NUMA Group (https://partner.numastays.com), Europe's leading
digital serviced apartment operator and technology developer, has announced the opening
of another new property in Berlin. The Group currently operates seven properties in the
German capital with a combined total of 503 units. NUMA Arc is now the largest boutique
apartment building in the NUMA portfolio, comprising 158 apartments in seven categories.
The NUMA Group has once again secured a high-profile building in a prime location in
downtown Berlin. The iconic property, located at Friedrichstraße 31, is within easy walking
distance of some the city’s most famous landmarks, such as Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint
Charlie, Berlinische Galerie and the Jewish Museum Berlin. Originally constructed in 1891,
the building suffered substantial damage during World War II. Nevertheless, the neo-
Renaissance facade, replete with gables, turrets, bay windows and instantly recognizable
stone gargoyle from the architect Gustav Knoblauch, was preserved and is a defining feature
of the central Berlin cityscape. From 2004, the 4-star Angleterre hotel occupied a new
building behind the historic facade.
“NUMA Arc gives Berlin an iconic, state-of-the-art boutique apartment building for modern
travelers,” explains Dimitri Chandogin, Managing Director of NUMA Group. “Berlin is one of
Europe’s leading tourist hotspots and presents exceptional opportunities for the NUMA
concept. In large cities, we are registering an under-supply of up to 60 percent,” Chandogin
continues. “The owners of the former Angleterre hotel have recognized this gap in the
market and the growing interest in boutique apartments compared to traditional hotels. They
have partnered with NUMA to strategically realign their accommodation offer, with an
attractive selection of innovatively designed new apartments. We have successfully created
a home-away-from-home feeling with a fresh design concept, convenient online check-in
and check-out via smartphone, mini-kitchens, and work desks with fast wireless internet,
which makes them ideal for longer stays too,” adds Dimitri Chandogin.
