Over the next few years, the airport operator will develop several quarters with different types use on an area of around 240 hectares. The extended Airport City, Midfield Gardens, is being built in a prime location between the two runways of BER airport with a direct line of sight to Terminal T1. The high visibility of the construction sites, modern architecture in symbiosis with greened recreational areas, a broad mix of uses as well as excellent infrastructure connections to the airport, rail, and road offer the best conditions for national and international investors and companies.
The airport operator supports the Airport Region through sustainable urban development of its land and infrastructure for medium- and long-term passenger development. This includes networked mobility and the creation of intermodal connectivity as well as the responsible use of resources. When extending the Airport City, the aspects of sustainability and digitalization are considered with attention and thus provide impulses for the progressive economic and structural development of the region.
The Airport Region is a vibrant economic region and offers companies and technology centers a location with a high degree of connectivity. The new Midfield Gardens quarter is being built in the immediate vicinity of the airport. Individual building concepts can be realized on the approx. 14.8 hectares of net building land, given that building rights are available. The synergy with the Airport Region team provides interested investors with immediate information and support to develop Midfield Gardens into an innovative and sustainable location to complement the diversity of the business landscape surrounding the airport. The numerous industries represented already provide an ideal starting point and ensure innovative growth in the region around Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).
