Issue 06/2024 | Berlin-Brandenburg takes off at the ILA 2024

Schoenefeld, June 4, 2024

Dear readers,

ILA Berlin 2024 is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to an exciting week.

From June 5 to 9, we will be part of this important international aerospace exhibition with a stand as part of the joint presentation of the two German states. The ILA is not only a mecca for experts and enthusiasts of the aerospace industry, but also a central meeting place for innovations and future-oriented technologies.

The Berlin-Brandenburg airport region, which includes part of the capital city of Berlin and surrounding municipalities in Brandenburg, has established itself as a leading location for the aerospace industry in recent years. The region's excellent infrastructure, close proximity to BER Airport and strong networks and collaborations between business, science and research make it an ideal location for companies in the aerospace industry.

Berlin and Brandenburg offer not only a strategic location, but also a dynamic environment for research and development. The region boasts outstanding facilities, including the Aerospace Center Wildau (LZW) at the University of Applied Sciences Wildau and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin-Adlershof, as well as other university facilities. These provide a solid foundation for applied research and innovative developments in the aerospace industry.

In addition to research institutions, numerous companies are also active in the region, including industry giants such as Rolls-Royce Deutschland, MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg, and Lufthansa.

ILA Berlin also offers a unique platform for exchanging ideas with international experts, making new business contacts and discovering the latest trends and innovations in the industry. Visit us at our booth no. 320 in Hall 4 when you are there! We look forward to seeing you!

This issue also features articles on research into nanoparticles for green hydrogen production, a breakthrough in battery research, and the world's first terahertz scanner for industrial applications.

As usual, you can also find out how real estate projects are developing in the region and what news is in store for BER Airport. For further information on the growth sectors in the Berlin Brandenburg Airport region, please visit our website.

Best regards,

The Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg Team
