Proximity to the political arena

Berlin is the political and economic epicentre of the Federal Republic of Germany, and it is home to its most important decision-making bodies - the Federal Government, the Parliament and the Bundesrat.

Besides the Federal Government, the Parliament and the Bundesrat, more than 160 embassies, general consulates and branches of international organisations, such as the European Commission and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as numerous national associations from business and science, are represented in Berlin.

Potsdam, Brandenburg’s state capital and home to its state ministries, is also close by.
