Edition 10/2025 | Investments & Innovation – Global Companies Bet on the Berlin Brandenburg Airport Region

October 10, 2025

Dear Readers,

The Berlin Brandenburg Airport Region is emerging as a hotspot for global companies and innovation. Stripe, TK Elevator, and Takeda are investing in new locations, creating jobs, and strengthening the region’s innovative capacity.

Projects such as Die Macherei Berlin-Kreuzberg, SHED in Neukölln, and Funkytown are creating modern, sustainable districts for work, research, and leisure. At the same time, HyMetBat and inno2grid are driving high-tech and mobility solutions forward – making the region internationally relevant for both science and industry.

At Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), the new COO István Szabó has taken over operational management. In August 2025, 2.44 million passengers used the airport – around 52,000 more than in the previous year – while freight volumes increased to almost 5,000 tons.

The Berlin Brandenburg Airport Region remains a location where investments shape the future – locally, nationally, and globally.
