Drawing of initial ideas for the new BVG bus depot for e-buses in Berlin

The first milestone for the realization of the BVG's new bus depot at Säntisstraße has been reached

The first milestone, one of many on the long road to the project goal, was reached before Easter.

After the start in January 2024, ARGE BVG Säntis successfully presented the current planning status of service phase (LPH) 2 of the HOAI (preliminary planning) yesterday, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with all the architects, specialist engineers, structural engineers, landscape and traffic planners as well as the specialists for the charging infrastructure involved.

The major challenge was to create a preliminary plan for LPH 2 in the shortest possible time from a study for the future BVG AöR electric bus depot to the basic determination in LPH 1. The BIM model was set up in the same period.

The success is based on highly motivated and experienced project managers at all project participants as well as the involvement of committed and creative planning coordinators from the Berlin branch of ZECH Bau SE.

On Thursday, March 28, 2024, the planning documents, associated explanatory reports and the BIM model created up to this point were handed over digitally to BVG. These documents were presented the day before in the form of an official presentation at the planning jour fixe on March 27, 2024.

This allows BVG to discuss and decide on these preliminary plans with its decision-makers. As a result, ARGE BVG Säntis will enter the next planning stage of LPH 3 (design planning).

BVG intends to build a new depot for electric buses on the approx. 66,000 m² site on Säntisstraße in Berlin-Tempelhof, Marienfelde district. As part of this project, the construction of a ready-to-use bus depot with at least 218 e-charging stations is planned. The depot will include an administration building, a workshop and service hall, an underground car park and other parking areas in accordance with the latest environmental and sustainability standards, as well as the associated traffic and outdoor areas.
