Adtran Networks SE leases a 12th campus building

immobilien-experten-ag. has leased building B8, which is still under construction on the "AM OKTOGON" campus in Berlin-Adlershof, to Adtran Networks SE (Adtran). The 12th new campus building B8 is located on Hermann-Dorner-Allee and has a total leasable area of around 2,300 square meters spread over five floors. The stand-alone building was designed by Berlin-based architects GBP Architekten GmbH and will be constructed by Adolf Lupp GmbH + Co. KG as general contractor on a turnkey basis by the 4th quarter of 2023. Certification with the LEED Gold sustainability standard ensures ecological quality and low operating and ancillary costs for the tenant. The lease has a fixed term of 10 years and was brokered by Kasten-Mann Real Estate Advisors.

"We are very pleased that the 75th campus tenant rents an entire building at once. As a technology-oriented company, Adtran is an excellent fit for the location and for our campus," says Mareike Lechner, CEO of immobilien-experten-ag. "The lease confirms our strategy for the "AM OKTOGON" campus, for which we deliberately opted for a small-scale building structure. This offers tenants a high degree of individuality on the site, which will have just under 90,000 square meters of gross floor space when completed."

Adtran is a multinational provider of open network solutions for cloud and mobile service delivery. Products include scalable optical transmission technology, network termination and aggregation devices for Carrier Ethernet services, and solutions for network function virtualization and fiber monitoring. The main production facility is located in Meinigen, Thuringia.

"The Berlin Science and Technology Park Adlershof convinces with an ideal working environment for our further growth," says Dr. Christoph Glingener, CTO of Adtran. "When choosing our location, it was crucial for us that we were able to rent our own building on the AM OKTOGON campus. When we realized that we could have our individual requirements and wishes implemented when expanding the rental space, the decision was made in favor of Campus AM OKTOGON."

Directly next to the new Adtran building, the almost identical B9 building is being constructed at the same time. A further five new buildings, each with a gross floor area of around 6,000 m², are already in the planning stage and will complete the "AM OKTOGON" campus. The campus is located in the immediate vicinity of the landscape park, which, as the former airfield of the Adlershof-Johannisthal motor airfield, represents the nucleus for today's Adlershof Technology Park. With around 1,300 resident companies and facilities, it is Germany's largest technology park. In addition, its IT infrastructure, in particular the adjacent high-performance fiber optic network and its own 5G campus network, make it the best-connected location within a radius of 1,000 kilometers.
