AI Hub in the former IMAX at Potsdamer Platz

A Cinema Becomes an AI Hotspot: The former IMAX at Potsdamer Platz is getting a new lease on life. Spanning 3,200 m² across three floors under the iconic roof of the Center am Potsdamer Platz, the new Berlin hub of AI company Superhuman (formerly Grammarly), which has been present in Germany since 2022, is taking shape. The hub ranks among the most exciting office spaces in the city—right in the heart of Berlin, surrounded by Deutsche Bahn, Exolaunch, Sony, HYGH, and a wide range of food and lifestyle offerings.

Berlin’s coolest office space

The newly developed office, named “The Penthouse,” will soon house the team of AI developer Superhuman. The office spans approximately 3,200 m² over three levels with large open spaces and community areas. Designed as a refurbishment, it impresses with state-of-the-art technology, LED lighting, smart energy management, and much more—all in line with the center’s high sustainability standards.

“The Penthouse” also stands out with its exceptional amenities. As part of the Center’s redesign, not only were the outdoor areas and dining options modernized—featuring the trendy KERB Berlin Food Hall and vendors such as Burgermeister—but immersive experience offerings and a fitness center are also already planned. A particular highlight is Germany’s largest 3D screen, which has fascinated visitors since July and can also be used by resident companies like Superhuman for their own brand presentations.

Superhuman expands its team

Founded in 2009, the AI company Superhuman—formerly known as Grammarly—has expanded its offerings into a comprehensive suite of AI-powered applications and agents for productive work. The company employs over 1,500 people worldwide across the Americas and Europe. Since 2022, Superhuman has also had a hub in Berlin, where a growing team works on the further development of its AI products. With the expansion of the Berlin location, Superhuman strengthens its presence in Germany and creates an environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.

“With our new hub at the Center at Potsdamer Platz, we are creating a place that encourages collaboration and exchange—for our rapidly growing team in Germany,” says John Bell, Director of Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience at Superhuman (formerly Grammarly). “The new location provides our colleagues in Berlin with an inspiring environment to develop innovative products and advance our corporate vision. At the same time, it will serve as a meeting point for our teams from Europe and the Americas to connect in person and work on projects together. We are especially excited to open the space for events within Berlin’s tech community in the future.”

A Signal for the Capital Region—and the Office Market

Oxford Properties, co-owner of the center, also sees the deal as a milestone: “With AI company Superhuman, we welcome another tech player to the center. This strengthens the role of the Center at Potsdamer Platz as a hotspot for international tech companies and demonstrates that Berlin is one of the most attractive locations in Europe,” says Benjamin Gschnell, Managing Director of Oxford Properties Germany.
