The German branch of the human rights organization Amnesty International has leased 2,000 square meters in the SHED project in Berlin-Neukölln. The non-governmental non-profit organization will move into rental space on the second floor of the main SHED building in the joint project of the KLINGSÖHR group of companies and DERECO. "The leasing of the well-known organization confirms the attractiveness of the project in Berlin-Neukölln," says Stefan Klingsöhr, managing partner of the KLINGSÖHR Unternehmensgruppe.
"The good leasing activities of recent months show us that the market for high-quality and modern office space continues to flourish," adds Klingsöhr. Amnesty International expects to have a new work quarter in SHED, equipped with the latest energy standards. The project is LEED Gold pre-certified, has a large photovoltaic system on the roof of the main building that provides the basic electricity supply, is connected to the district heating network as well as excellent public transport connections, and offers many e-charging stations for cars as well as handicapped-accessible parking facilities. Thus, the SHED has an excellent CO2 balance.
David Noll, member of the management board of DERECO Holding GmbH, adds: "The lease of Amnesty International adds to the diversity of business models, industries and organizational structures already represented at SHED. The high-quality office space created here meets a wide variety of requirement profiles to the highest degree and also contributes to a sustainable enhancement of the location through the great diversity of tenants."
The SHED building ensemble, located directly on the S-Bahn ring, will offer around 33,000 square meters for offices - especially for start-ups - and gastronomy on a site area of more than 15,500 square meters. SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Creditsafe Deutschland, Datagroup, we.CONECT and a climate start-up will also occupy space in the project. The overall occupancy rate is 60 percent. SHED is located directly on the Schifffahrtskanal in Neukölln in the NEUE UFER business park. The gastronomic offerings in the project itself and in the surrounding area ensure an attractive neighborhood environment. The investment volume is around 200 million euros. The project is being financed by Berliner Sparkasse. The developer is a joint venture of the KLINGSÖHR Group and DERECO.
