BEOS signs contract worth €100 million

BEOS and Implenia have already been working successfully together since 2021 on the Berlin project development, which is scheduled for gradual completion by 2026. Dreßler Bau GmbH will also remain part of the construction team alongside Implenia as technical leader.

"We are very pleased with the conclusion of the contract, which we were able to celebrate in a fitting manner during this year's EXPO REAL. The long-standing partnership between BEOS and Implenia is characterized by our shared entrepreneurial spirit and reliability to continue to drive forward and ultimately successfully complete a challenging and forward-looking project such as the BERLIN DECKS, even in such challenging times," said Jan Plückhahn, CEO of BEOS AG, about the successful cooperation. "We are very proud to announce this important project progress with Implenia at our side."

Matthias Jacob, Implenia's Country President for Germany, is delighted with the contract win: "We would like to thank BEOS for their renewed trust and look forward to further successful collaboration. Sustainability - one of Implenia's five corporate values - also plays an important role in these two construction phases: the building facades used, consisting of color-glazed ceramic elements, are durable as well as low-maintenance, and the clay required for their manufacture is ecologically degradable. In addition, all construction phases will be implemented in wood-hybrid construction."

The BERLIN DECKS: A diverse urban quarter for research and media

Directly on the banks of the Spree Canal at Friedrich-Krause-Ufer 16-21 in Berlin-Moabit, BEOS has been developing the innovative urban campus BERLIN DECKS since 2018. An innovative and sustainable research and media quarter for the working world of tomorrow is being created on the former shuttered industrial site on the northern edge of Moabit. Previous anchor tenants of the space are the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) and the Mercedes Benz subsidiary MBition. The construction phases now commissioned include, among other things, a future daycare center as well as common areas for local neighborhood uses and craftsmen.

Already in 2020, the neighborhood development has received pre-certification in the DGNB Gold standard for ecology, economy, location and safety. A healthy indoor climate with optimal humidity will be created for future tenants. The green roof surfaces also provide thermal insulation in winter and heat protection in summer. They help to preserve biodiversity, serve as protection against fine dust and promote effective rainwater management. The greening is supplemented by photovoltaic panels.
