Berlin's tallest residential towers are being marketed

The two tallest residential towers in Berlin will be marketed starting in May 2025. The project name of these exceptional buildings is "Brooks on East," located in the "Media Spree" in the cosmopolitan district of Friedrichshain. The condominiums at Brooks on East will be exclusively marketed by the Berlin-based sales company "Best Place." The project’s more than 350 residential units, along with serviced apartments, are distributed across the two towers with heights of 95 and 86 meters. Additionally, the associated podium buildings will include commercial, retail, and gastronomy spaces.

New Name, New Future

Construction of the complex began in 2013, with the project initially marketed as "UPSIDE Berlin," and the two distinctive towers also known as "Max and Moritz." Work was interrupted in 2023 when the project company "Max und Moritz Quartier Friedrichshain GmbH" encountered financial difficulties. The administrator of the project company, Christian Otto from the Berlin law firm hww, succeeded in reaching an agreement with the financiers to resume construction. Subsequently, Barings, a global asset manager with assets under management of more than 421 billion USD, committed to fully financing the completion of the project.

Strong Partners for Completion

In September 2024, Otto commissioned project developers Red Square and Arrow Global to complete the building ensemble, allowing construction work to resume at the end of last year. Since then, the construction has progressed well. The first apartments are expected to be ready for occupancy in autumn 2025.

A Key Milestone for Berlin

"With Barings and the two project developers, we have assembled a team of high-performance specialists to complete this important Berlin real estate project despite the interruption," emphasized Christian Otto.

"Together with the other partners, our goal as the responsible developer is to create Berlin's highest residential space," adds Aaron Tschörner, managing director of Red Square. “This outstanding project in Berlin's emerging Media Spree area represents one of the final puzzle pieces in the successful completion of a new, young, and modern district on the Spree River between East Station on one side and the Uber-Arena on the other.”

Marketing Begins in May 2025

Marketing of the condominiums in the first of the two towers will begin in May this year. Information about Brooks on East is now available on the project's website at www.brooksoneast.de.

Brooks on East is part of Media Spree, a young district between the established locations of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, with a vibrant mix of modern office buildings housing companies like BCG and Zalando, residential buildings, restaurants, and good local amenities. The micro-location offers numerous recreational opportunities, such as the Uber-Arena. In addition, the district is known for its internationally recognized club scene. East Station, with long-distance trains, buses, and the S-Bahn, is just around the corner, and Berlin Mitte and Alexanderplatz are only 15 minutes away.
