DIEAG secures leading life science tenant for BE-U | Behrens-Ufer

The DIE Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG (DIEAG) has secured a leading life science company as an additional tenant for BE-U | Behrens-Ufer. The internationally active provider of analytical, forensic, and diagnostic biotechnology services has signed a long-term lease for approximately 3,000 square meters of rental space in the historic Peter-Behrens-Bau, part of the emerging new technology quarter in Berlin-Oberschöneweide.

Tailor-made spaces for research and production

The spaces will be custom-designed and developed using the "built-to-suit" approach, dedicated to production, research, and development—each with corresponding laboratory and office components. The lease will commence immediately upon completion of the tenant improvements carried out by the landlord. The construction work is being implemented in collaboration with Ed. Züblin AG, which serves as the general contractor for the district and has already successfully completed complex tenant fit-outs for high-tech users. Ganter Architects, together with DES GmbH, are responsible for planning the technical building equipment (TGA). The tenant fit-outs are scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026.

An attractive location for innovative businesses

Robert Sprajcar, CEO of DIEAG, commented: “We are delighted to welcome a leading life science company as a new tenant at BE-U | Behrens-Ufer. The company's decision to lease space at BE-U on a long-term basis highlights the site's attractiveness, which, with its innovative and sustainable district concept and close proximity to various scientific and educational institutions, offers ideal conditions for research- and production-intensive businesses.”

A technology quarter with future potential

The BE-U | Behrens-Ufer district is being developed across an area of approximately ten hectares, featuring a mix of heritage-listed buildings and modern new constructions. By 2030, around 235,000 square meters of commercial space will be created here for companies from various future-oriented industries, including life sciences, semiconductors, sensors, and information and communication technology.
