SEGRO Airport Park Berlin to expand

SEGRO is building a further 33,000 m² for the commercial section of SEGRO Airport Park Berlin. Now that the building permit has been granted, construction will start on the first section of around 15,000 m² this year.

“With this expansion, SEGRO is expanding its portfolio of modern and flexible commercial spaces in order to meet the strong demand. With the opening of the new BER airport and the creation of the Tesla Gigafactory, demand will continue to rise,” says Christina Schultz, Associate Director Development at SEGRO.

Both small-scale light industrial units with ceiling heights of 6.5 meters as well as medium-sized urban logistics units are being built. This new type of building is especially suitable for urban logistics and has a ceiling height of 10 meters with several loading gates per unit.

Tenants should be able to move into the new spaces starting in October 2021. The commercial section of the campus will then offer approx. 82,000 m² of space. 98% of the current 49,000 m² is already leased. In addition, SEGRO Airport Park Berlin has a 72,500 m² logistics which has long been fully leased. The total area at SEGRO Airport Park Berlin will be 154,500 m² once the expansion is complete. All areas have DGNB Gold certification.

SEGRO Airport Park Berlin is located in the immediate vicinity of the new Berlin-Brandenburg airport, directly on the B 96a, and offers optimal connections to the motorway network via the A 113 and A 117.
