FREO Group obtains building permit for development site in Berlin-Mitte

FREO Group has received planning permission for its development site at Seydelstrasse 14 in Berlin-Mitte. Freo had acquired the property in an off-market transaction in August 2020 and submitted the building application in February 2021. Construction work on the approximately 1,100-square-meter site is scheduled to begin this fall.

A new seven-story office building with a roof terrace is planned for the site. Upon completion, it will have approximately 2,800 square meters GFA, 14 parking spaces for cars, and 40 bicycle parking spaces in the underground garage. Tchoban Voss Architects, one of the leading architectural firms, has been commissioned to design the building. In addition, DGNB Platinum certification is being sought.

The planned new building is located in the immediate vicinity of Spittelmarkt and the U2 subway station of the same name, as well as the Axel Springer headquarters in a mixed-use area. The Gendarmenmarkt, the Humboldtforum with the new building of the Berlin Palace, and the Museum Island are in the immediate vicinity of the project.
