Jonas & Redmann has just complete its move into its new company headquarters in Berlin. And, on November 20, 2020, the company officially marked the opening of the new building. Barbro Dreher, State Secretary of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises, Oliver Igel, Mayor of the Treptow-Köpenick District, Dr. Stefan Franzke, Managing Director of Berlin Partner GmbH, and representatives of the companies and banks involved in the construction gather to congratulate Stefan Jonas and Lutz Redmann on this milestone.
The Berlin mechanical engineering company Jonas & Redmann has built a new headquarters in the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg. The newly built production and office space is located on a 23,000 m² site in Johannistal, a neighborhood in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick. The building was officially opened on November 20, 2020. The 8,000 m² production hall had already started operating in July 2020.
Perfect production conditions
Jonas & Redmann has invested €25 million in its new corporate headquarters and production facilities. The project was ready for its final inspection on time in October 2020. And, exactly one week before the company’s 31st anniversary, Jonas & Redmann Group officially opened its new corporate headquarters on November 20, 2020. The company’s entire workforce of some 400 employees has now moved into their new workplace.
The company’s specialists will be working in the buildings on Segelfliegerdamm 65 that have been optimally designed for the development and production of systems for high-tech industries such as medical technology, photovoltaics, and energy storage technology. The company’s development and engineering departments are now also efficiently linked to the production and storage facilities. The building has been tailored in every respect to the requirements of modern industrial production.
Barbro Dreher, State Secretary of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises remarked: “The dedication of the new company headquarters is good news not only for the company, but also for Berlin as a business location. Our city still needs this entrepreneurial spirit, even during this crisis. We, the State of Berlin, will continue to ensure good framework conditions.”
Deadlines and budget met
The clients, managing directors, and owners Stefan Jonas and Lutz Redmann hired Goldbeck to handle the complete infrastructure project. Goldbeck met every deadline and cost projection over the entire project. The production halls and the administration building were supplemented with a parking garage, secure and covered bicycle lockers, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
The buildings are designed to meet high energy efficiency and sustainability standards. For example, they are heated with district heating from efficient cogeneration, the electricity consumed is consistently green, i.e. obtained from renewable energy sources, and an intensive green roof covering the large hall and office roofs make an additional contribution to the positive ecological balance.
Optimistic view into the future
Lutz Redmann, Co-Managing Director, Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: “Jonas & Redmann designs perfectly integrated, fully automated processes in high-tech industries. The region around our location is booming and we are also optimistic about the coming year.”
A plus point is the location itself. Jonas & Redmann is internationally active. The new company address offers an excellent environment for its operations. Jonas & Redmann sees the proximity to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt (BER), the neighboring companies in the Adlershof Technology Park, and, last but not least, the Tesla plant making electric cars in nearby Grünheide as plus points.
Stefan Jonas, Co-Managing Director, Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: “We have chosen a promising company location. And from the very first day, the working environment for our specialists has improved 100%.”
