KLINGSÖHR and DERECO hand over the first space in the SHED project in Berlin

The joint venture between the KLINGSÖHR Group and DERECO has handed over the first unit in the SHED project. The CleanTech start-up 1KOMMA5° took over the 1,100 square meter space on March 1, 2024.

1KOMMA5°: New CleanTech in sustainable SHED project

1KOMMA5° is a fast-growing CleanTech company from Hamburg that operates throughout Europe and Australia and specializes in CO2-neutral energy systems. The company will occupy space on the first floor, second floor and second floor of the LOFT building, the first of four buildings in the SHED project. A showroom and a tech lab will be set up on the first floor. The rental agreement was signed last year.

"The first handover to the CleanTech company 1KOMMA5° marks another milestone in the development of the SHED project," comments Stefan Klingsöhr, Managing Partner of the KLINGSÖHR Group, adding: "We are currently in the process of expanding for all other tenants and will gradually hand over these spaces in the coming months."

David Noll, Member of the Management Board of DERECO Holding GmbH, adds: “With 1KOMMA5°, we have gained a tenant that is representative of the SHED concept - innovative, sustainable and geared towards the requirements of our time. The technically well-equipped office spaces at SHED are LEED Gold-certified, have excellent public transport connections and can be flexibly configured.”

SHED: New offices and restaurants in a central location on the Berlin S-Bahn ring

The SHED building ensemble, located directly on the S-Bahn ring, will offer around 35,000 square meters of office space - especially for start-ups and restaurants - on a site area of more than 15,500 square meters. The gastronomic offerings in the project itself and in the surrounding area will create an attractive neighborhood environment. The investment volume amounts to around 240 million euros. The project is being financed by Berliner Sparkasse. The developer is a joint venture between the KLINGSÖHR Group and DERECO. With an occupancy rate of over 80%, the SHED project is almost fully let.

SHED is part of the NEUE UFER development site in Berlin-Neukölln, which includes the HOHE NEUN project of the KLINGSÖHR Group and DERECO, as well as the new "Estrel Tower" in Berlin, which will be the tallest building in Berlin at 176 meters when it is completed in 2025. The DOXS NKLN project completes the development site.
