PORR builds airport hotel at BER Berlin Brandenburg

A new airport hotel under the Ramada Encore by Wyndham brand is being built at the capital's BER Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Schönefeld. PORR Hochbau Region Ost was commissioned by SWH Airporthotel Schönefeld GmbH as general contractor for the construction of the new hotel. The specialised civil engineering works are being carried out by PORR Spezialtiefbau.

The new airport hotel with four upper floors will have 271 rooms on a gross floor area of approx. 16,763 sqm. 193 car parking spaces in two basement levels complete the building. The construction project is located in the immediate vicinity of the Waßmannsdorf S-Bahn station, the last stop before BER Airport. With the S-Bahn just a few steps away, hotel guests can easily travel directly to the BER terminal. The hotel thus offers a comfortable place to stay for travellers looking for short distances.

LEAN management for adherence to quality, costs and deadlines

The key requirements for the new building are adherence to the cost and schedule plan and the implementation of the hotel operator's standards. The consistent application of lean management methods throughout the planning and construction process ensures cost transparency, schedule reliability and the high quality desired by the client.

Experience with demanding hotel projects

With the construction of the Steigenberger Am Kanzleramt hotel, PORR has already proven its ability to realise challenging hotel projects.
