PROJECT is developing 26,000 m² of land into a residential area in Berlin Treptow-Köpenick

The capital investment and real estate development specialist PROJECT has purchased the more than 26,000 square meter property at Wendenschlossstrasse 142 in Berlin’s Treptow-Köpenick district. The plan is to develop a residential area consisting of condominiums, publicly subsidized housing and commercial units. This large project is in the portfolio of the PROJECT Metropolen 20 real estate development fund, among others, which will close on June 30, 2022.

With the purchase of Wendenschlossstrasse 142, the real estate manager, which is working throughout Germany, is involved in a residential area development in the German capital with the aim of building attractive and at the same time affordable living space and relieving the strained Berlin housing market. The residential buildings planned according to the KfW-40 standard meet very high energy efficiency standards and some are publicly funded. The residential area should meet the needs of families with children in particular, which is why a day care center has been planned.

The approximately rectangular property is located about 800 meters southeast of Köpenick’s old town, on the western side directly adjacent to the Dahme, a tributary of the Spree. The surrounding area is both residential and commercial, with a historic tram depot located directly to the north. Residential development in the immediate area consists of a mix of single-family homes to the south of the site and multi-story housing of various building ages to the north and east.
