A dynamic economic region stretching from the busy Berlin environs to the south of the city and right up to the municipalities around Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) – this is the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg. Its excellent infrastructure, first-class business locations, innovative technology centers and motivated skilled workforce make it an ideal company location. Be it global corporations, medium-sized companies or startups – the company landscape of the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg is just as diverse as the industries represented here.
The Airport Region Team is a cooperation of the two business development agencies, Berlin Partner for Business and Technology and the Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB) and is focused on economically strengthening the region around Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). With headquarters directly at BER Airport, we are the first point of contact for companies interested in opening new branches or offices in the region.
Our close cooperation with the respective industry experts of each economic development agency means that we can support you with all your questions regarding company expansions and settlements.
The international project developer HB Reavis has won another tenant for the "DSTRCT.Berlin" in the form of the fire protection company hhpberlin. The 200 employees of hhpberlin will move into approximately 1,500 square meters of office space on the third floor of the building in late summer 2022.
The spaces can be used flexibly and allow for an individual layout, which means that the tenant can adapt the future workplaces entirely to their needs and requirements.
This means that the new building in the "DSTRCT.Berlin" is almost fully let, with only a total of around 3,300 square meters of rental space still available. As recently as August, 3,300 square meters were leased to the WOW Tech Group. JLL acted as mediator and adviser on the part of hhpberlin.
hhpberlin has been one of Germany's leading fire protection companies for over 20 years. The engineers and architects develop customized fire protection concepts and accompany their international customers from the idea to the finished building. At the same time, hhpberlin is actively committed to the future of urban development: In the new spaces, the challenges of climate change and social change are being tested in an interdisciplinary way in the so-called safe city laboratory.
"DSTRCT.Berlin" has a total of more than 50,000 square meters of leasable space as well as more than 800 bicycle parking spaces and 40 e-charging stations. The spaces are divided into a new building and four historic halls. Tenants have access to a wealth of productivity-enhancing and health-promoting amenities, including landscaped courtyards, a panoramic rooftop terrace, and a variety of dining options in the so-called DSTRCT.market. In the new building, tenants also get inspiration from the expressive works of art by Berlin artist Christian Awe. The buildings have already received WiredScore Platinum certification, as well as WELL and DGNB Gold-level pre-certification.
The "DSTRCT.Berlin" is well connected to the local public transport via the S-Bahn stations Landsberger Allee and Storkower Straße. Both the BER airport and Berlin's main train station are about a 30-minute drive away. The Hausburgpark, as well as the Volksparks Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg can be reached within a few minutes walk.
The new building for the "DSTRCT.Berlin" project, which is located next to the restored historic halls, is already around 90 percent let. With the closing of the transaction, only a few spaces are still available, which include parts of the fifth floor with roof terrace.
