AUTODOC moves to "Am Tacheles" and thus relocates its headquarters to Berlin-Mitte

A major office rental contract was signed in the early new year for the new urban quarter AM TACHELES: Europe’s leading online auto spare parts dealership AUTODOC will be relocating long term in 2023 to the Scape building – into total rental office premises of more than 14,000 m². AUTODOC will in future bundle all its forces at Friedrichstrasse 111 in the new headquarters. In the northern section of the Scape building, more than 400 AUTODOC staff will work – across six stories.

AUTODOC was founded in 2008 by Alexej Erdle, Max Wegner and Vitalij Kungel in Berlin and has since that time grown dynamically by the year. In 2021, AUTODOC for the first time booked sales in excess of EUR 1 billion, up from 2020 sales of EUR 842 million and turnover of EUR 612 million in 2019. The AUTODOC product range covers more than four million items for automobiles, truck and motorcycle brands. In addition to Germany, AUTODOC operates in 26 other European countries and its payroll of some 4,600 is spread across five locations. In September 2021, AUTODOC was transformed into a joint stock corporation.

The urban quarter AM TACHELES is a business location with strong external appeal: Thanks to the extraordinary architecture built to a masterplan by Pritzker Prize winners Herzog & de Meuron a new highlight is being woven into the urban fabric. AM TACHELES stands for high-grade office, residential and retail spaces in a vibrant and green urban quarter where it is a pleasure to live and work. The ensemble is made up of ten new builds as well as the former Kunsthaus Tacheles, into which the Fotografiska will be moving. The marketing concept for the high-end office spaces has been designed to cater to changing demand: The four office buildings and their footprints afford maximum flexibility and can be adapted to the different needs of all manner of user types and usage concepts. The concept covers the entire spectrum, be it individual offices or the seat of a large corporation, a staffed office or hybrid usages. These characteristics are especially sought after in working premises given the current ongoing changes in commercial properties: Staff like coming to the office, and do so more regularly if not just the work stations but the direct vicinity is superbly designed. The office buildings are certified for their sustainable construction (LEED Platinum Core & Shell is pre-certified) and are also allergy-friendly (certified with the ECARF seal). Moreover, the buildings meet the ultimate in technological standards (WiredScore Platinum Label received; SmartScore Platinum certification on going).

Savills Immobilienberatungs-GmbH brokered the rental agreement. AUTODOC was advised by combine Consulting GmbH (workplace strategy, tenant representation) and Langguth & Burbulla (legal). The landlord drew on the services of SammlerUsinger as legal counsel.
