The Federal Building Authority Baden-Württemberg is planning a new research building in Adlershof

The new GBD 149 research building for the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is to be built in Berlin-Adlershof by 2027. Entrusted with the control, the Federal Building Authority is breaking new ground with the approval of the Federal Ministry of Construction: The project team intends to use Integrated Project Management (IPA) and relies on partnership-based cooperation. Right at the start of planning, the Federal Building Authority wants to bring all the key stakeholders, such as the client, planning offices and construction companies, to one table.

The Federal Building Authority Baden-Württemberg is presenting the new project on its own project website www.gbd149.berlin. The Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA), as the owner and implementer of measures, is arranging the construction of the new research building GBD 149 for BAM. Planning for the around 18,000 square meters of floor space will begin in 2023. This major project with a construction volume of around 200 million Euro places high demands on the implementation being on time and within budget.

Science location Berlin-Adlershof
“The new BImA building project is a clear commitment to the science location Berlin-Adlershof,” explains Prof. Dr. Ulrich Panne, President of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing. “We look forward to expanding as a departmental research facility of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection at a proven location within a few years and being able to continue working on our future topics in an inspiring environment.”
