FAY Projects has rented out a further 1,100 m² of office space near Berlin-Brandenburg Airport BER. The three latest deals have increased the occupancy rate in the new FLEXGATE building project to around 24% just under 18 months before completion. The new tenants come from different industries and appreciate the favorable location in Schönefeld near the airport. The spaces are scheduled to be handed over in summer 2022. The slabs are currently being poured.
"Due to the pandemic, the airport will develop its rental potential rather slowly," says Clemens Rapp, Managing Director of FAY Projects. "With our space concept, which provides for extra-flexible spaces as small as 265 m², we can still achieve steady progress in assembling an attractive tenant mix."
"We hope to create a diversified office community with both small and large tenants and will offer relaxation, creative and other communal areas to support this," says Manuel Oltersdorf, Senior Development Manager at FAY Projects.
FLEXGATE is about five minutes away from the main terminal at BER and has excellent transport connections to both the Berlin city center (30 minutes) and the Autobahn and long-distance rail network. "We are in concrete negotiations with other potential tenants and expect to have more than 50% pre-leased this year," says Rapp.
