The "John Jahr Haus" is being developed by the Jahr Group in collaboration with service developer HAMBURG TEAM. The project consists of a 17-story office tower and two connected residential buildings, offering a total of approximately 22,000 sqm gross floor area, including around 16,900 sqm of office space, 4,300 sqm of residential space, and 800 sqm of retail and gastronomy space. The residential section comprises both privately financed and subsidized units. Additionally, there are 69 car parking spaces and 180 covered bicycle spaces available. High-Quality Office Spaces and Flexible Design at the Gateway to City-West

The new office spaces for Grant Thornton feature modern, high-quality fittings with a sustainable design. A glass foyer serves as a representative entrance area, while flexible floor layouts allow for various configurations to meet diverse needs, from spacious individual offices to open-plan workspaces.

The sustainable operation of the property is supported by heating supplied from renewable district energy. Additionally, the project aims to achieve DGNB Platinum certification.

Adalbert von Uckermann, Managing Director of the Jahr Group, commented: “We are delighted to have secured Grant Thornton as a prestigious anchor tenant for the John Jahr Haus. The signing of this lease underscores strong tenant interest in high-quality office spaces at prime locations. The John Jahr Haus combines excellent connectivity to City-West with architecturally refined design and reflects the positive development of Berlin as a location. The Jahr Group has owned this property since 1967, and we plan to keep it in our portfolio for many more decades.”

Dr. Jan Merzrath, Board Member at Grant Thornton, added: “The John Jahr Haus offers our employees a modern office space that lays the foundation for continuously enhancing the high quality of our services for clients. We are creating sustainable work environments to meet both current and future needs, further driving our company’s growth trajectory. We already look forward to the move.”

The lease was brokered jointly by BNP Paribas Real Estate and Jones Lang LaSalle. Legal counsel for the lease agreement was provided to the Jahr Group by Dr. Hendrik Bott of the law firm FPS and to Grant Thornton by Dr. Henning Sieber of Greenberg Traurig Germany.
