Topping Out Ceremony for ‘Finkengarten’ Residential Neighbourhood near Berlin

The topping out ceremony for the first 48 apartments in the new ‘Finkengarten’ residential district in Wildau, Brandenburg, took place on 12 September in the presence of numerous guests and Wildau's mayor Frank Nerlich. The residential complex, with a total of five apartment buildings, is being built on a site of around 8,800 square metres and, when completed, will comprise a total of 91 condominiums. This will create over 7,000 square metres of new living space in the coming years just outside Berlin.

Housing project strengthens the property market in Wildau

At the topping out ceremony, Frank Nerlich, mayor of Wildau, said: ‘The residential construction project of Bonava Deutschland GmbH, Fürstenwalde, is making a significant contribution to relieving the housing market in our university town, which continues to be very tight in times of high influx and corresponding demand. We wish our new arrivals a good start in Wildau and hope the investor has good luck in the further realisation of the project, including the final landscaping, which will enrich our cityscape. We are happy to provide support as far as possible.’

A wide range of housing options for different lifestyles

With a choice of 1 to 6 rooms and living spaces ranging from 27 to 158 square metres, the ‘Finkengarten’ offers families, singles and couples a modern home. ‘The natural environment offers residents of the new neighbourhood a wide range of local recreation opportunities. Finkengarten will have an underground car park, a bicycle parking area, a playground and numerous green spaces, making it a place for active neighbourhood encounters,’ added Bonava project manager Alexander Haß. The houses will be built to the Efficiency House 55 standard and the energy supply will be ensured by a pellet heating system. Underfloor heating is planned for the apartments.

Perfectly located in a green area with good transport links

The ‘Finkengarten’ residential area is characterised by the excellent quality of its surroundings. Wildau, located in the south-eastern part of Berlin's commuter belt, is surrounded by the Dahme Lakes. The location has perfect transport links, with BER Airport in the immediate vicinity and the A10 motorway easily accessible. In addition, the residential area is only two kilometres from the nearest S-Bahn station (Wildau). There is a supermarket within sight, and daycare centres and schools are within walking distance. At the same time, the project is quietly located in a green area, with a nature reserve adjacent to it.

The first keys – for house 1 – will be handed over in the first quarter of 2025. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2027.
