A good eleven months after the start of construction for the civil engineering and seven months after the laying of the foundation stone, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on October 5, 2022 on the future site for the special-purpose association Bauhof (building depot) TKS. The start of operations is planned for the summer of 2023.
“I am happy for all employees, who will now hopefully soon be able to move to the modern works premises,” says Mayor Bernd Albers, who celebrated on Wednesday together with his colleagues Thomas Schmidt and Michael Grubert as well as the entire Bauhof staff.
An administration building with changing rooms and sanitary facilities for around 70 employees in the field and eight employees at management level is being built at Hamburger Strasse 21. In addition, a workshop for vehicles, street lighting and street furniture will be built, as well as a truck building with 28 parking spaces and a wash section with an outdoor wash area.
Three transporter buildings with 32 parking spaces and an area for accommodating the daily work equipment for seven work crews are also part of the future area. A cold area for machines and equipment as well as two lightweight areas as a replacement for the bulk goods storage area that has been saved complete the ensemble.
There is also a rubbish store and seven storage boxes for bulk materials as well as sufficient space for disposal containers on the site. Parking is available in abundance: 49 for the staff, including four electric charging stations and a facility for parking two-wheelers.
The respective resolutions to establish a joint special-purpose association building depot were made in 2019 in the local parliaments of Teltow, Kleinmachnow and Stahnsdorf. This agreement was finally approved by the municipal supervisory authority at the end of November 2019.
On November 1, 2020, the association started its work at the current headquarters in Kleinmachnow. All municipal employees were included in the special purpose association - at that time there were 56 people (today: 70).
Since the building depot will definitely have to move out of the current administrative headquarters in Kleinmachnow, Am Bannwald 1a, a search was made for a suitable site, which was finally found at Hamburger Strasse 21. The three members of the association are fully responsible for the financing of the new building. Each municipality spends 5.15 million Euro on the building depot.
