A dynamic economic region stretching from the busy Berlin environs to the south of the city and right up to the municipalities around Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) – this is the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg. Its excellent infrastructure, first-class business locations, innovative technology centers and motivated skilled workforce make it an ideal company location. Be it global corporations, medium-sized companies or startups – the company landscape of the Airport Region Berlin Brandenburg is just as diverse as the industries represented here.
The Airport Region Team is a cooperation of the two business development agencies, Berlin Partner for Business and Technology and the Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB) and is focused on economically strengthening the region around Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). With headquarters directly at BER Airport, we are the first point of contact for companies interested in opening new branches or offices in the region.
Our close cooperation with the respective industry experts of each economic development agency means that we can support you with all your questions regarding company expansions and settlements.
The project developer PANDION, based in Cologne, is successfully pushing on with its construction project in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The granting of all permits for the two office buildings PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus A and B represents an important milestone. The site is in close proximity to Mediaspree as well as one of Berlin’s most important train stations, Ostkreuz, and will initially be home to a contemporary complex with around 40,000 m² of office and conference rooms, not to mention dining spaces. With the preparatory construction measures completed, the excavation work for the office building PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus B has now begun. Construction work for PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus A will start in the second quarter of 2022.
“We are consistently implementing our New Work Standard idea with PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus B. Each individual floor can be used throughout without partition walls, if needed. The offices and conference areas thus offer maximum freedom for organizing future-oriented work. Our modern architectural, light and design concept creates an atmosphere where people feel comfortable and creates the perfect space for new working methods, networking, collaborative work and creativity”, explains Mathias Groß, branch manager of PANDION in Berlin.
Oliver Collignon, Managing Director of the design company Collignon Architektur und Design GmbH, adds: “PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus B will be topped off by the integration of spacious communal areas, quiet areas, open spaces and communicative meeting points as well as a high-quality, contemporary interior design concept and terraces.”
“The functionality and sustainability of PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus B mean that as many user requirements can be met as possible. For example, we are enabling leisure and work activities outdoors with the green open spaces surrounding the office complex”, Mathias Groß explains.
About PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus
The plan is to build a total of three office buildings with a total rental space of 50,000 m² by 2025 on the site of a former car dealership and garage. The first construction phase in the PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus is expected to be completed in mid-2024. The building’s digital infrastructure guarantees the WiredScore Gold certification. The energy efficiency of PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus is ensured by the KfW 55 standard. PANDION will also renew the sidewalks along the edge of the property and, in coordination with the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district council, will help design Bödikerstraße with environmental protection in mind, contributing to the costs.
The striking office building PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus B with a total rental space of approx. 9,500 m² has been designed by Collignon Architektur und Design GmbH from Berlin and covers the eastern part of the site. The second construction phase, PANDION OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus A, designed by kadawittfeldarchitektur, will comprise a rental space of approx. 29,000 m². The open spaces created by the campus character in front of and between the buildings provide retreat areas in the middle of the city with a design by the Topotek 1 office that has been thought through in terms of landscape architecture.
