The real estate company Becken is further expanding its commitment in Berlin. To this end, the real estate and investment company, which is active throughout Germany, acquired a developed property of around 2,000 square metres from ASKA Germany GmbH at An der Urania 16-18 at the end of July 2021. The existing building, the former hotel building "Hotel President", which was constructed in the 1960s, is to be demolished in the future to make way for a new building. The plan is to develop a modern, flexible and sustainable office property that will meet the challenges of a constantly changing office and working world. Completion is scheduled for mid-2025. With its immediate proximity to Wittenbergplatz and KaDeWe, the location in Berlin's City-West has a high quality of stay as well as excellent transport connections.
Dominik Tenhumberg, Managing Director of Becken Development GmbH, says: "In addition to our NEO - Büro am Ku'damm project development, which is currently under construction, this project site offers us another promising development opportunity in the hotspot of Berlin's West. The corner location also results in a high visibility of the property in the context of the neighbourhood development." Dieter Becken, Managing Partner of Becken Holding GmbH, adds: "We continue to see potential in the Berlin real estate market for investments. In our view, the low vacancy rate and the large number of promising sectors in particular speak for a continuing demand for office space."
The property purchase was brokered by redstone international investments gmbh. Legal advice to the buyer was provided by the law firm Wiegel Ihde Ekrutt + Partner. The seller was advised by GSK Stockmann. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
